...and all’s right with the world.
Alibi Brewing Iggy Grisette. Nice. Light but reasonably alcoholic, and a little sour
It appears not everyone is convinced a bar’s a good thing though - this is astonishingly un- busy for a CBD craft beer bar at 5:30 on the first Friday t hey’ve been open in 8 weeks.

I walked to my local brew pub yesterday, to pick up a growler and a six pack to go. They are starting to seat people outside, with limited numbers of people. Still, many people were seated next to each other, and no masks, of course. Bartenders did have masks at all times. As I was alone, I had one beer away from people, and went on my merry way.

1st of June is our kick off for pubs and bars...the only issue is how the pubs deal with the 1 person per 4 sqm and maximum of 50 people rules in your average front bar.

I notice you make no claim to being light, however

I am going to wait it out and see what happens first before going out to a bar or restaurant.

Went out a couple weeks ago with the fam. I made sure we sat on the patio. They spaced everyone apart and limited the number of patrons.
I thought it was pretty funny we’d take so many precautions against a virus so that we could drink a known carcinogen.
Fucking people, amirite?

Max 10 per party and 100 per venue here, with tables spaced out and no standing at the bar. No masks in sight: they’re not a thing here outside the medical environment.

It’s (hopefully) done here now - only one new case in the past week and that was a household contact of a known case. Now we just need to keep it that way.

As Arthur C Clarke put it, “ it has yet to be proven that intelligence has any survival value.”
Still, alcohol kills viruses so it’s gotta be a net win, dunnit.

10 per party, 100 per venue, and 2m between tables are the rules here. Seemed ok last night: the place I was in didn’t reach capacity. I guess not everyone’s ready to go out yet.
How survivable it is for the pubs economically is another question...

I’m pretty sure the reason the government opened the bars here a week after almost everything else was to give the new normal a chance to become actually normal before they gave folks a place to celebrate. They were worried about the “ end of lockdown” party from hell breaking out. Places where people go in droves to do something that kills their inhibitions and common sense must be an epidemiologist’s nightmare.

I love Mr. Clarke, and from his writings and collaboration know that he knew what “intelligence” results in. Anyone who’s read Genesis realizes we’ve known what “intelligence” ultimately resealts in: death. It might be a way for mother nature to eventually get rid of some of her more destructive creations.
